Call for papersYou are invited to participate in the Joint Conference in Group Decision and Negotiation & Decision Support Systems Technology 2024 (GDN & ICDSST 2024).The Joint Conference will gather the 24th International Conference on Group Decision and Negotiation, organized by the GDN Section of INFORMS, and the 10th International Conference on Decision Support Systems Technology, organized by the Euro Working Group on Decision Support Systems (EWG-DSS), from the EURO Association. The conference will be held at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, in Porto, Portugal, from 3 to 5 June 2024. The Joint Conference will have as its main topic: Human-Centric Group Decision, Negotiation and Decision Support Systems for Societal Transitions.The Organising Committee invites researchers, educators, developers, specialists, and other professionals in the related areas of decision-making and negotiation, including its methodologies and technologies, as well as application-oriented practitioners directed to the implementation of solutions for decision support challenges, to submit their work to the Joint Conference in Group Decision and Negotiation & Decision Support Systems Technology 2024.
The EURO Working Group on Decision Support Systems invites you to participate in the ICDSST 2023 International Conference on Decision Support System Technology on “Decision Support System in an Uncertain World: the Contribution of Digital Twins” in Albi, France. The Conference will be hosted at the Industrial Engineering Center, IMT Mines Albi, during the period of May 30th to June 01st, 2023.
The Organizing Committee of the ICDSST 2023 invites researchers, developers and specialists in the related areas of decision making, including its methodologies and technologies, as well as application oriented practitioners directed to the implementation of solutions for DSS challenges to submit their work to the ICDSST 2023.
All founding members of the EURO Working Group of Decision Support Systems and senior Collaborators from other DSS Communities are highly encouraged and invited to submit their contributions and participate in the conference.
Contributions: We encourage submissions addressing (among others) the suggested topics listed below. Authors are requested to submit full papers, short papers or posters.
Short Papers: Short papers should have up to 6 pages and should use the Short-Paper ICDSST 2022 Template (Linked here: ICDSST-2023-short-paper-template).
Posters: Posters should use the Poster ICDSST 2022 Template, which is set up to yield a 70 cm x 100 cm vertical poster. (Template linked here: ICDSST2023-Poster-Template). Printing of Posters for exhibition on the Conference Hall, will be at the responsibility of their own authors.
Accepted submissions will either be published in the Springer LNBIP Book (long papers) or in the ICDSST 2023 Conference Proceedings (short papers and posters).

ICDSST 2023 Publications:
As in previous EWG-DSS ICDSST Conferences, accepted long papers may be published through various means, including the conference proceedings, Springer book series – Lecture Notes in Business Information Processing (LNBIP), and Special Issues in DSS related journals for short papers (to be announced). Proceedings of the ICDSST 2023 on “ Decision Support System in an Uncertain World: the Contribution of Digital Twins ” (containing abstracts of all accepted papers, with an ISBN number) will be Guest Edited at the IMT Mines Albi – Université de Toulouse. It is our great honor and pleasure to inform the community that Jonas Kirchhoff have been awarded with the EURO Working Group on Decision Support Systems EWG-DSS 2022 Young Researcher of the Year. Jonas Kirchhoff presented the paper “Decision Support Ecosystems: Definition and Platform Architecture?” during the EWG-DSS 2022 International Conference on Decision Support System Technology in Thessaloniki, Greece, May 23 – 25 2022. Jonas demonstrated outstanding performance both in compiling an accomplished research article, as well as in delivering a masterful presentation.

Adem Kikaj and Marko Bohanec presented the paper “DEX2Web A Web-Based Software Implementing the Multiple-Criteria Decision-Making Method DEXAdem” and Jean Gomes Turet and Ana Paula Cabral Seixas Costa have presented the paper “Decision Support System to Brazilian Public Security Management: a hybrid methodology (unstructured and structured data)” during the EWG-DSS 2021 International Conference on Decision Support System Technology in Loughborough, UK, May 26 – 28, 2021.

Nazanin Vafaei has been awarded the EURO Working Group on Decision Support Systems EWG-DSS 2020 Young Researcher of the Year. Nazanin Vafaei presented the paper “Selecting Best Normalization Technique for MCDM Methods” during the EWG-DSS 2020 International Conference on Decision Support System Technology in Zaragoza, Spain, May 27 – 29, 2020. It is our pleasure to announce that EWG-DSS will be presented at the HICSS-55 conference (Hawai’i International Conference on System Sciences – HICSS) with the mini-section “Fairness in Algorithmic Decision-Making” under the section “Decision Analytics and Service Science” led by prof. Christer Carlsson and prof. Haluk Demirkan.

HICSS-55 means that the conference has been organized for 55 years, it is one of the classical conferences in Information Systems and Computer Science; it runs for almost a week in January each year and collects 1000-1300 participants. Decision Support Systems were one of the early themes for the HICSS conferences as Prof Ralph Sprague was General Chair for many years.

The COVID-19 outbreak is a human tragedy and has a growing impact on most aspects of human beings including health, economy, education, sports and many more. There are many ways that we, human beings could have better managed this global crisis. Nevertheless, ‘Learn from past and move forward’ has been the nature of human beings for centuries in order to be safe from similar threats. ICDSST 2021 aims to investigate the role DSS and related technologies can play in mitigating the impact of such pandemics and post-crisis recovery. It is important to look at DSS with a fresh pair of eyes in order to develop new methods and technologies for better global crisis management. So that we, human beings can safeguard ourselves from future crises.
In addition to the consideration of the more traditional issues of our field, the ICDSST2021, under the title of “Decision Support Systems, Analytics and Technologies in response to Global Crisis Management”, will concentrate on the development of new methods and technologies that support to prevent crises through intelligent decision making.
Target Participants:
The ICDSST 2021 welcomes participants from a wide range of background around the world, including scholars, researchers, educators, developers, specialists, practitioners and other professionals, as well as Master and PhD students, who are interested in the decision making and decision support related areas, such as DSS methodologies and technologies as well as application-oriented solutions.
The past year has been both fruitful and challenging for many of us across the world. It is our pleasure to share with you the recent news from the EWG-DSS community, by looking back some of the key achievements we have succeeded despite all the unforeseen challenges.
Year 2020 did not go exactly the way as we would have wished for. Covid-19 has brought significant difficulties to many of us, both in work and in personal life. We would like to send our sincere regards to all those whose families have been affected severely by the terrible pandemic.
