In 2012, the EWG-DSS group organises two meetings in Workshops and Conference Streams.

The 1st Meeting/Workshop of the EWG-DSS group in 2012, the “EWG-DSS Liverpool 2012″, will take place in the University of Liverpool, in the UK, during the period of April 12th to 13th, 2012. EWG-DSS DSS Stream in the EURO XXV Conference in Vilnius

The second meeting of the EWG-DSS in 2012, will be held within the DSS Stream of the EURO XXV in Vilnius, Lithuania, in 2012.

The DSS Stream’s is composed of 4 sessions. These sessions define the main topics of interest in this stream. In order to submit your abstract to one of the DSS Sessions listed below, you need to login in the conference site, select the “Abstract submission” menu option and then enter the session’s code to which you wish to place your submission. The DSS Stream Session codes are given below:

EWG-DSS Liverpool 2012 Workshop

Call for Papers

The EWG-DSS  invites you to participate in our first Meeting & Workshop in 2012: the “EWG-DSS Liverpool-2012 Workshop on “Decision Support Systems & Operations Management Trends and Solutions in Industries”, to be held in Liverpool, UK, on the period of April 12th-13th, 2012, locally organized by the School of Management of the University  of Liverpool.

We encourage the submission of papers addressing topics in research and application of Decision Support Systems (DSS). Authors are requested to submit extended abstracts (6 A4 pages) in electronic form (MS-Word and PDF) up to 24/02/2012. (LNCS format). Submissions will be managed through EasyChair. Submissions may include, among others, the following topics:

- Decision-Making approaches for Operations Management
- Collaborative Decision-Making in Industries
- Integrated DSS for global manufacturing
- DSS supported by simulation and optimization approaches
- Centralised and Non-Centralised Decision-Making in manufacturing networks

The 25th European Conference on Operational Research, EURO XXV, with the special subject on “OR connecting sciences” will take place in Vilnius, Lithuania from July 8^th to 11^th, 2012. The Programme and Organising Committee are preparing a high quality academic programme of the Conference. In addition to this, you will have an excellent opportunity to exploit Vilnius, the historical capital of Lithuania! As the organizer of the Stream of Decision Support Systems, the EWG-DSS would like to invite you: researchers, practitioners, as well as students working in the areas of decision making, analysis and decision support to participate at this Conference and to submit your work to this stream. Contributors are requested to submit their Abstracts (no more than 600 characters) in English (without formulas or mathematical notations). Notice that each attendee is only allowed to present one paper at the conference.

Paris, here we go!

The EWG-DSS is very pleased to announce that the “EWG-DSS Stream on Collaborative Decision Making” of the EWG-DSS / DASIG Paris-2011 Joint-Workshop, to be held on November 30th, 2011, has attracted the  participation and the interest of many  professionals of the decision-making research area.

The Workshop comprises two Streams. On Day 1 (Wednesday, Nov.30th, 2011), there is the EWG-DSS Stream on “Collaborative Decision Making ”(EWG-DSS_Stream Program), including 2 invited speakers presentations and 14 papers short presentations related to various aspects of Decision Making approaches. On Day 2 (Thursday,Dec.3oth, 2011), there is the Stream on “Policy Analytics” organized by the DASIG Decision Analysis Special Interest Group from the British OR Society (DASIG Stream Program), including 9 presentations and 1 plenary discussion about the topic of Policy Analytics.

The special  talks of the EWG-DSS Stream on “Collaborative Decision Making ”will be presented by Denis Bouyssou , a Senior Researcher at the CNRS in Paris, about the topic:  “Should you believe in the Shanghai ranking ?”; and Sihem Amer-Yahia, Principal Research Scientist at Qatar Computing Research Center, who will speak about: “Social Analytics to Encourage Collaboration on the Social Web of News”.

We are extremely proud to be able to co-organize jointly with the DASIG and CNRS-LAMSADE  such an interesting event.

EWG-DSS Award

Dear Colleagues!

The EWG-DSS has launched this year a motivating research initiative for young researchers of an annual “EWG-DSS-Award“.

The annual “EWG-DSS-Award” will choose the best and most innovative among submitted and presented work by students or young researchers, in the EWG-DSS organized workshops and conference streams of the same year, to be rewarded with a modest prize in money.

-  How to apply? Participate in the EWG-DSS organized Workshops and Session Streams each year and allow your work to be part of our selection!

For 2011, applicable work submitted to the EWG-DSS London-2011 Workshop on Decision Systems in June 2011 and to the EWG-DSS Stream on Collaborative Decision Making of the EWG-DSS / DASIG  Paris-2011 Joint-Workshop in November 2011 (Call-for-Participation still open!) will be taken into consideration for this award.

The “EWG-DSS-Award 2011″ will be of € 300.00. For the next years, the EWG-DSS hopes to count with sponsorship from research funds and from the industrial sector to make the “EWG-DSS-Award” more financially appealing.

We hope you like and support this initiative by participating and/or disseminating this information among your students, colleagues, research partners and collaborators. Guidelines and requisites for the work selection, ranking and final choice for the “EWG-DSS Award” will soon be published in the EWG-DSS Homepage.

Paris-2011 Joint-Workshop

Dear Members of the EWG-DSS,
EURO Working Group on Decision Support Systems !

The EWG-DSS invites you to participate in our second Meeting & Workshop in 2011, which will take place in Paris.

This time the EWG-DSS organizes jointly with the  DASIG  Decision Analysis Special Interest Group from the British OR Society and CNRS-LAMSADE the “EWG-DSS / DASIG Paris-2011 Joint-Workshop”, which will take place in Paris Dauphine University in France, in the period of November 30^th to December 1^st, 2011.

The “EWG-DSS / DASIG Paris-2011 Joint-Workshop” is supported by EURO and by LAMSADE: a joint-laboratory of the University Paris-Dauphine and the CNRS, organized with the special support from our colleague and EWG-DSS founding member Alexis Tsoukias from LAMSADE.

Following the success of the “EWG-DSS London-2011 Workshop″, the main purpose of this Joint-Workshop is to provide an informal setting in which the participants, from both EWG-DSS and DASIG groups, can have the opportunity to meet and discuss technical, methodological and social aspects involved in the development of Decision Systems.

The Workshop comprises two Streams. The “Stream on Collaborative Decision Making on the 30^th of November, 2011” organized by the EWG-DSS and the “Stream on Policy Analytics on the 1^st of December, 2011” organized by the DASIG Decision Analysis Special Interest Group.

For the EWG-DSS Stream on Collaborative Decision Making, members of the EWG-DSS working group are expected to participate and to encourage the participation of other related professionals, so that further collaboration can be promoted on a larger scale.
